The exploration well of PetroChina's deep-ground Taco 1 well was recently drilled in Shaya County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang. The well is a major project for PetroChina to carry out "deep earth engineering" exploration in Tarim Oilfield. It is close to the rich 1 billion ton ultra deep oil and gas area with a depth of 8000 meters.
