PetroChina: China's first Wanmike exploration well started drilling in Tarim oil field

China Securities Network News (Reporter Liu Yang) On May 31, the reporter learned from PetroChina that the exploration well of PetroChina's Deep Taco 1 well was drilled in Shaya County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang. The well is a major project for PetroChina to carry out "deep earth engineering" exploration in Tarim Oilfield. It is close to the rich 1 billion ton ultra deep oil and gas area with a depth of 8000 meters. It aims to explore the geological and engineering science theory of 10000 meters, marking the opening of the "10000 meter" era of China's drilling capacity, It will provide an important foundation and support for China's future scientific research and oil and gas resources development.
According to PetroChina, the design depth of Deep Earth Taco 1 well is 11100 meters, and the design drilling and completion period is 457 days, which will create the world's fastest record for drilling 10,000-meter deep wells, and will once again prove that China's deep Earth series technology has entered the forefront of the world.
The industry has positioned wells with a depth of 4500-6000 meters as deep wells, wells with a depth of 6000-9000 meters as ultra-deep wells, and wells with a depth of more than 9000 meters as ultra-deep wells. Ultra-deep well drilling is the field with the most bottlenecks and challenges in oil and gas engineering technology.
PetroChina said that as the main battlefield of domestic deep-ground oil and gas exploration and development, Tarim Oilfield highlights the innovation drive, constantly challenges the "one super three high" exploration and development technical problems of "rare in the world and unique to China", and forges the core technology of deep-ground engineering.
In 2020, the Tarim Oilfield successfully drilled a 8882-meter-deep Rotary Exploration 1 well and made a strategic discovery of oil and gas, becoming the first deep well on land in Asia at that time. In March this year, Tarim Oilfield successfully drilled Goller 3C, the deepest horizontal well in Asia, at a depth of 9396 meters, expanding the depth of oil and gas exploration to an ultra-deep depth of 9000 meters, and has the conditions to march into Wanmite deep wells.
According to PetroChina, Well Deep Taco 1 was drilled by the 120001 drilling team of PetroChina Western Drilling Bazhou Branch, using the world's first 12000 Mitte deep well automated drilling rig independently developed in China. At present, PetroChina Tarim Oilfield is aiming at the strategic goal of building the largest ultra-deep oil and gas field in China and taking the lead in building a Chinese-style modern world-class large oil and gas field. It has implemented 2 trillion cubic meters of atmospheric area and rich 1 billion tons of large oil and gas area, and has successfully drilled 95 ultra-deep wells over 8000 meters, with more than 1700 wells over 6000 meters deep.
